Common questions
How much does a driveway gate cost in Melbourne?
Most single driveway gates land between $3,000 and $8,000 supplied and installed, depending on width, design and whether you add an automatic opener. Automatic sliding gates with a motor typically start around $6,500. You'll get a fixed written quote on site — we don't price over the phone, because it's usually wrong.
How long does the whole thing take?
Quote within 24 hours of the measure. Fabrication two to three weeks from approved drawings. Installation is usually one day for a gate, one to three days for a full fencing run.
Do I need a council permit?
Most fencing under 2 metres and gates replacing an existing one don't need a permit. Front fences over 1.2 m, heritage overlays and corner blocks can. We flag it during the measure and tell you exactly what to lodge — most of our jobs don't need one.
Can you automate the gate I already have?
Usually yes, if the gate is structurally sound and swings or slides freely. We'll check the posts, hinges and clearance during the measure and tell you honestly if it's worth automating or better replaced.
What warranty do you give?
10 years on workmanship and fabrication. Powder-coat finish is covered by the applicator's warranty, and motors carry the manufacturer's warranty (usually 2–3 years). All put in writing before you pay anything.
